The point at which you form a thought, you are analyzing something of interest, there is a whirl of ideas and this amalgamation becomes a soft whisper and then it’s a voice in your head telling you it’s stance on the subject at hand, but what is the it?  Are the voices in your head people in your life who played significant roles? Ex-lovers, mothers, fathers, sisters, and friends?

My guess is yes. When something happens to you that is too much to absorb all at once, you often dream about it.  Those work dreams? Yes, they too fall into this category.  Your consciousness is zeroing in on the most important and all the peripheral details are disregarded except when you relax and unwind and begin to worry about the passing events.  You talk with friends and lovers about such occurrences and de-com-press the you sleep and have some weird dream.  The people you share that experience- those whose opinions you value, assimilate unto one’s own consciousness and thus another thought pattern is adopted.

There was this girl, she was 11 at the time who went to a convenience store. While at the convenience store there was an armed robbery and the father was shot dead. After this the girl heard her father say little quips such as brush you teeth Don’t forget to turn off the light, etc. Was she grieving? Was this a way for her mentality was prtoecting her like an Alice in Wonderland syndrome? or was she genuinely hearing voices?

Either way this was a way in which social beings-humans, adapt to anticipate difficult situations. Call it psychological evolution, or survival of the fittest, These voices are a way of humans asking what their friends think of a situation intrinsically.
